The Walrus Pub
CHEERS TO A JOB WELL DONE
The Donnelly Group recognized they needed to replace the underperforming, behind schedule and overpromised “Big GC” at demo stage – before deadlines and budgets were in jeopardy.
The Walrus Pub & Beer Hall is a Toronto Institution – a sprawling, multi-faceted establishment designed as an airy hangout for the Financial District crowd.
EN2 was called in to rescue! EN2 assumed leadership role as General Contractor, Project Manager and Construction Manager and Design Consultant. EN2 hired own dedicated trades. Fast tracked schedule. Managed client, in-house designer and master trades to deliver one stop, complete fit-out to clients’ specifications.
The Walrus opened on schedule, under budget and to a high level of fit, finish and client satisfaction. The destination Pub was up and operating on brand, on target, on time.
Barber & Co
SHARPEST TOOLS OF THE TRADE
Barber & Co. was established in 2011 with a bespoke barbershop in Vancouver’s Gastown neighbourhood. The concept was a hit and 5 barbershops’ later, the Donnelly Group saw the opportunity to take the concept to Toronto and supply stylish Bay Street gents with the experience the time honoured ritual of a cut, trim or shave.
Conveniently located in the Financial Districts’ underground PATH System, Toronto’s Barber & Co. is now the barber shop where stylish Bay Street gents can enjoy the comfort, culture and community provided by old fashioned barber service and a shot of smooth whisky too.
EN2 took on the task as General Contractor and Project Manager working alongside The Donnelly’s in-house Interior Designer Taking on the complete build out plus overseeing the details of custom chairs, wood counters, cutting edge product cabinets – those authentic details that make this a sharp spot for men’s grooming.
Barber & Co is now a destination space for haircuts, hot shaves, whisky, friendly banter and a nice compliment to the adjacent Donnelly Group’s hospitality offerings – upstairs café, beer hall and ping pong parlour.

PRIVATE SOCIAL CLUB WANTED THE ROYAL TREATMENT
An entrepreneurial investor group wanted to realize their dream of providing an old world, sophisticated spa for discerning clientele like themselves. The clients knew what they envisioned, but did not have a designer, contractor, or project manager to execute on their behalf.
Located in a non-descript suburban plaza was a 6,000 square foot blank slate to work with. The site was in need of demo and complete fit out.
The clients were looking for a complete, one stop service to help Design, General Contract, Project Management and Build Out the space to their exacting standards. EN2 worked with Julie Chapman Design to capture the ambience and aesthetic of a posh spa venue. The space was designed for club reception, dressing rooms, spa treatment rooms etc. EN2 looked after client design approvals, materials, finishes and pricing. EN2 then completed general contracting and project management.
The spa was a complete turn-key success. The concept was delivered on budget, on schedule, and on brand to a satisfied customer and client.
